shouting the poetic truths/of high school journal keepers
OK, since we are all friends here, I’d like to take a moment to help promote a new work of non-fiction just released called Mortified: Love Is A Battlefield. It’s a deeply hilarious and painful anthology of actual high school journal entries with commentary from the brave and embarrassed adults that wrote them long ago. This book grew out of live performances of said material that the Mortified crew have staged over the past couple of years.
This collection is especially important to me, as one of it’s contributors, Karen Corday, is my wife and partner-in-crime for nearly 11 years. Any of you who know me personally know how much funnier she is than me, or most people for that matter. She’s worked towards her first (and I am sure not the last) appearance in print for some time, and I am extremely happy for her. Funny stuff. Check it out.
